Feeding Recommendation

LICK: Feed at a rate of 350 – 550 g/head/day. Make sure all the animals have access to adequate roughage or pasture where the lick is fed.

Correct adaptation is extremely important!

  • Day 1-3: Limit intake to 1 % of body weight per animal per day with ad lib roughage.
  • Day 4-6: Limit intake to 1.5 % of body weight per animal per day with ad lib roughage.
  • Day 6-7: Limit intake to 2 % of body weight per animal per day with ad lib roughage.
  • Day 8-11: Limit intake to 2.5 % of body weight per animal per day with ad lib roughage.
  • Day 12-14: Limit intake to 3 % of body weight per animal per day with ad lib roughage.

If animals are completely adapted and do not show any signs of acidosis, the diet can be fed ad lib after day 14.
